Sportily Case Study

Project Type: PowerApps

Sector: Non-Profit

Our Customer

Sportily is creating a network of sport and faith groups across Gloucestershire. Sportily’s team consists of 12 paid and 50 volunteer coaches who work to deliver a wide range of sport and activity sessions in multiple locations.

Their Challenges

Sportily approached Valto with a brief to use Microsoft Power Platform to create a ‘digital session log form’, to be completed by sport coaches at the end of every session.

This was to provide detailed analysis of the collected data, in order to present to the Leadership Team.

Sportily wanted to be able to analyse the data of each sessions performance, so that they can make minor changes to the delivery and continue to improve their services.

Challenges

  • Getting the most value from Microsoft 365
  • Collecting data from mobile devices
  • Automating tasks and reports
  • Data analysis, charts and dashboards
  • Track KPI’s and monitor activity

Our Solution

Our solution delivered a complex Model Driven App, which can be completed by users on mobile phones and auto-completes many fields based on ‘session templates’.

Comments and photos from sessions can also be added to the form, and Microsoft Power Automate processes flag issues reported into an Microsoft Teams channel.

Overview analysis is provided within Microsoft PowerApps with different customised views displaying the data differently to various users.

Detailed dashboard analysis is provided through Microsoft PowerBI enabling the charities leaders to monitor activity across the network, or to look at activity in a single location, or delivered by a specific team member.

Results, Return on Investment and Future Plans

With a dispersed workforce, delivering a wide variety of different sessions, Valto’s solution is enabling the Sportily Leadership Team to track key KPI’s, monitor activity delivery and understand the impact and growth of the charity.

Collecting quality data about activity, monitoring performance and evaluating progress is often overlooked within the sme-charity sector. These tools have enabled the charity to make informed decisions about growth based on analysis of what is working well and where.

Using Microsoft tools means that the charity is able to grow and adapt the system as it grows, without incurring significant redevelopment costs.

Quote From Customer

We’re really pleased with the solution which Valto have delivered for us. We chose a Microsoft tools based solution as this option enabled us to keep costs to a reasonable level and safeguard the system for the future. We pushed the functionality of the tools to the limit in order to achieve the complexities of the brief and Valto always found a way to equip the tools to work for us. So often data captured is thrown into a black hole of data storage, this solution enables us to monitor activity in real time and to present this in a useful format to those at all levels within the charity who can use it to inform decision making.
