This is an operational project management role focused on:
- Governance
- Coordination
- Stakeholder management
- Change and adoption
- Delivery assurance
The role is not a hands-on technical position. Instead, it works closely with Microsoft consultants, customers and internal teams to ensure migration and Modern Work programmes are delivered safely, on time, within budget and to agreed quality standards.
Migration delivery & modern work adoption
- Lead planning and delivery of Microsoft 365 migration and Modern Work projects.
- Build and maintain customer-facing migration plans.
- Idntify and manage dependencies, critical paths and cutover activities.
- Maintain RAID logs focused on delivery, business continuity and user disruption.
- Monitor planned versus actual hours and escalate risks where necessary.
Governance & change management
- Ensure delivery lifecycle and governance controls are followed.
- Support coordination of stakeholder communications.
- Manage change control for out-of-scope requests.
- Chair milestone meetings and capture lessons learned.
Stakeholder & customer management
- Act as the primary customer contact during migration and Modern Work projects.
- Manage expectations around timescales, testing, communications and adoption objectives.
- Communicate priorities and constraints clearly.
- Escalate issues when required.
- Manage customer concerns relating to delivery execution.
Operational & team support
- Provide day-to-day operational support to technical delivery teams.
- Ensure tasks are reviewed and updated during stand-ups and project reviews.
- Push back on work that bypasses agreed delivery processes.
- Support mitigation planning for resource and scheduling conflicts.
Person specification
The role is aimed at a structured, detail-oriented Project Manager who can manage multiple projects while translating technical delivery into clear customer outcomes. Candidates do not need to be hands-on technically, but should understand the delivery implications of Microsoft technologies and migration projects.
Essential skills & experience
- Strong organisational and stakeholder management skills.
- Excellent communication and presentation abilities.
- Ability to manage multiple projects and priorities.
- Knowledge of the Microsoft 365 ecosystem and Modern Work principles.
- PRINCE2, Agile or similar project management certifications.
Desirable Skills & Experience
- PMO, consultancy or professional services background.
- Experience delivering Microsoft 365 and Modern Work programmes.
- Knowledge of Teams, SharePoint, OneDrive and Viva adoption.
- Familiarity with Entra ID, Intune and Defender governance.
- Understanding of Microsoft 365 tenant-to-tenant migrations including Exchange Online, OneDrive, SharePoint, identity and cutover planning.
