Microsoft 365 – formerly Office 365 – is a world-leading collaboration tool and productivity platform designed to make you more efficient. With everything from word processing and presentation building to cloud storage and security protocols, take your business to the next level.
What’s the difference between Office 365 and Microsoft 365?
Office 365 has changed its name to Microsoft 365 – so all the services, apps and features you know and love from Office are now available with a new label. The new name is intended to be more descriptive of the all-encompassing subscription, which includes a range of Office apps including Word, PowerPoint, Outlook, Excel, OneDrive and more.
Microsoft 365 features a range of apps perfect for business accounts, accompanied by intuitive cloud storage. Microsoft also provides a range of security features, and with Valto as your Microsoft Partner you’ll benefit from hacking and compromised account protection.
There are a range of Microsoft 365 plans available, for personal, business and enterprise use. Your Valto specialist will be able to recommend the right plan for you to get the best value – we’ll start your consultation with a review of your business and requirements. Most Office 365 plans automatically convert to Microsoft 365 plans, though certain enterprise plans – including Office 365 E1, Office 365 E3 and Office 365 E5 – remain unchanged.

Is Microsoft 365 different to Office 365?
Office 365 changed its name to Microsoft 365 in 2020. Everything that was available in Office 365 is available in Microsoft 365, plus extra features. If you had an existing Office account, your account will have automatically transferred, and you don’t need to do anything. Microsoft enterprise plans remain unchanged.
Do I need to renew Microsoft 365 every year?
Microsoft 365 is a subscription service, and business plans are billed on a monthly basis for an annual commitment. As your subscription expiry date nears, you’ll receive reminders and notifications in your Microsoft 365 account. If you chose the recurring payment option on sign-up, your subscription will roll over and continue unless you choose to cancel it. If you don’t have recurring billing set up, you will need to either activate it or renew your subscription before expiry date in order to maintain access to the Microsoft 365 apps and cloud based services.
