Overview
We are seeking a Finance & Operations Assistant to support our Finance and Operations teams while developing a long-term career in finance, business administration and operations.
This role provides practical experience across financial administration, office management and business operations. The successful candidate will support day-to-day financial processing, operational administration and business support activities while developing professional skills and commercial experience in a growing technology business.
This role offers a structured development path into Finance, Business Operations or Management Accounting roles.

Learn more about ValtoKey Responsibilities Finance Administration:
- Assist in processing accounts payable and accounts receivable transactions, ensuring timely and accurate payments and collections.
- Help with the preparation of monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports.
- Perform bank reconciliations and assist in managing cash flow.
- Assist in maintaining accurate financial records and supporting documentation for audits.
- Process expense reports and ensure adherence to company policies and guidelines.
- Manage petty cash and record all transactions accordingly.
- Support the Finance Manager with budgeting and forecasting activities.
- Prepare invoices and track overdue accounts.
- Monitor and reconcile company credit card transactions.
- Assist with VAT returns, tax filings, and other statutory reporting.
- Assist with office administration
Key Responsibilities Office & Operations Administration:
- Manage the office reception area and welcome visitors, customers and suppliers.
- Coordinate meeting room bookings, visitor arrangements and refreshments.
- Maintain office supplies, stationery, kitchen consumables and office equipment.
- Coordinate travel, accommodation and company event bookings.
- Manage incoming post, deliveries and courier collections.
- Support onboarding and offboarding administration for employees.
- Assist with DBS checks, supplier onboarding and compliance administration.
- Maintain health and safety records, training records and compliance documentation.
- Coordinate office maintenance, contractor visits and facilities services.
- Support PAT testing, fire safety checks and other office compliance activities.
- Monitor shared administration inboxes and route enquiries appropriately.
- Support office improvement projects and continuous improvement initiatives.
- Maintain company policies, controlled documents and administrative records within SharePoint and Microsoft 365.
- Ensure all on/offboarding tasks are completed and up to date.
- Manage Health and Safety and Fire regulatory obligations.
- Coordinate Company Social Events.
Person specification
Key requirements:
- Proficient in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel; familiarity with accounting software (Xero) is a plus.
- Strong attention to detail and ability to handle sensitive financial information with confidentiality.
- Excellent organisational and time management skills.
- Strong communication skills, both written and verbal.
- Ability to work independently as well as part of a team.
- A proactive and positive attitude toward problem-solving.
Qualifications:
- Degree in Finance, Accounting, Business Management, Economics or a related discipline.
- Strong A-Level or equivalent academic background.
- AAT qualification or willingness to study towards AAT is desirable.
