The Results
The project delivered immediate value by providing the College with a modern, centralised SharePoint Intranet for the first time known as “The Loop”. Engagement with pages and posts improved by over 50%’ and ‘the amount of time colleagues spent engaging with the Loop increased by over 70%.The communications team now has the tools to update and evolve the intranet independently, creating a sustainable internal platform that supports ongoing digital transformation and improves their employee’s digital experience. Importantly, the new solution aligns with the College’s existing Microsoft 365 licensing, ensuring strong ROI without additional software costs, and by decommissioning their legacy intranet, the College has saved approximately £20,000 per year.
Looking ahead, The Loop will continue to evolve in response to staff needs, with plans to integrate additional Microsoft 365 tools such as Power BI reports and a Copilot agent to further enhance functionality and user experience. The intranet has become a trusted, go-to source of information, eliminating the need for staff to second-guess accuracy or search through outdated documents. With easy access via Microsoft Teams and as the default homepage on new company devices, it’s now embedded into employees’ daily routines. The platform has also supported the College’s sustainability goals by reducing the need to download and distribute documents manually.
As the organisation prepares for major upcoming changes, including a new strategy and refreshed branding, there is confidence that The Loop will ensure a smooth and consistent rollout. It has also become a central hub for training, hosting learning materials and supporting onboarding. The addition of features like an events section has boosted staff engagement, with increased sign-ups and participation across the College. As the organisation continues to modernise, the intranet provides a strong foundation for further innovation across departments.
