Why migrate to Microsoft 365?
Businesses across the world use Microsoft 365. The subscription service makes it simple for companies to keep tools and processes in one place. Cloud based, secure and scalable for enterprise, Microsoft 365 is ideal for large organisations as well as small and medium sized businesses.
Here are some of the top benefits of moving to a Microsoft system:
Work from anywhere
Even before the pandemic and lockdown restrictions, more and more companies were moving to a remote working model. The benefits are numerous – more flexibility, often greater productivity, reduced overheads, improved company morale and access to an increased talent pool.
With Office 365 and Microsoft 365, your employees, colleagues and clients will be able to access what they need to – no matter where they are. You won’t need to sort out VPNs or spend valuable time sending multiple email attachments. Your team will just need an internet connection to log in to their Microsoft account, with all your files stored at a single data source thanks to the secure Microsoft data centre.
Stay up to date
Because Microsoft 365 is an online service based in the cloud, you’ll receive instant, automatic updates. That means you’ll be using the very latest versions of all your favourite apps without any delay. No more waiting hours to manually download updates or facing that annoying ‘no longer supported’ error message.
Because your colleague will be logged in and online, every member of your network will be using the latest versions of Microsoft app – streamlining your day to day work, speeding up efficiency and ensuring you achieve the best possible results.
With applications guarded by SSL/TSL encryption and constant Microsoft security audits, you’re guaranteed security for your business with Microsoft 365. GDPR compliance is simple with Microsoft
365, thanks to ISO standards and official safety regulations. Microsoft 365 users also benefit from Enterprise Mobility & Security (EMS) features; these include the ability to safeguard company devices, selectively wipe data In the event of a breach, configure company safety policies and set who has access to files and data.

When you contact us, we take the time to get to know you, your business and your product, so we can recommend only what you need and only what will work for you.
Audit and Consultation
A Valto Microsoft 365 migration project begins with an initial consultation and audit. We’ll assess your current on-premises architecture – everything from data management and file storage to account mailboxes and cyber security.
Your dedicated migration expert will be on hand to answer any questions you have, and then take over ownership of the migration plan. We’ll take care of all the legwork and admin, so the entire process is hassle free.
What type of Microsoft 365 migration do you need?
The type of migration you need, and the steps that will need to take place, will differ depending on the size of your enterprise, the migration timescale, the amount of data you need to move, and where you’re moving it from – for example, migrating from Google apps to Microsoft 365 servers.
A cutover migration to Microsoft 365 moves everything over in one go. Items are taken from your on premises Exchange server and migrated smoothly over so every user has a dedicated Microsoft account. We recommend cutover migrations for companies with no more than around 2,000 mailboxes to transfer.
As the name suggests, a staged migration takes steps to move all your data from Exchange 2007 or older to Microsoft 365’s Exchange Online system. Staged migrations are fine for medium sized businesses operating a legacy Exchange server, though Exchange 2010 or Exchange 2013 accounts won’t be able to use this migration method.
We would usually recommend a hybrid migration model for larger businesses. In order to complete a hybrid switch, your business will need to currently operate on Exchange 2010 or newer.
