Valto recognised by The Sunday Times Best Place to Work 2024

We are thrilled to announce that Valto have been recognised as one of the ‘Best Places’ to work by the ‘The Sunday Times‘ in the ‘Small Businesses’ Category.

This prestigious award recognises the companies that offer the most rewarding and engaging work environments for their employees, based on a rigorous and independent assessment. You can view our award here.

The Award Process

The process involved surveying all of our employees to ask them detailed questions.

These questions related to happiness, pay, hours worked, benefits and training. We also provided evidence of our policies and practices that support our culture of excellence, innovation and collaboration. The results showed that Valto scored highly on all aspects of employee satisfaction and well-being, as well as demonstrating a strong commitment to diversity, inclusion and social responsibility.

Below we have listed some of the questions Valto have been asked as part of the selection process and our answers.

Why should your organisation be considered as the best place to work?

At Valto, we go beyond traditional benefits to create an unparalleled workplace experience.

Our commitment to employee satisfaction is evident through initiatives like our EMI share scheme, flexible and hybrid working models, flexible holidays, cycle to work scheme, and development plans and free training for our employees.

We believe that our initiatives, alongside our commitment to our local community through charity work, as well as multiple company social get togethers throughout the year make us a great candidate to be considered as the best place to work.

What initiatives do you provide to give the best experience for your employees?

We believe in crafting an exceptional workplace for our employees.

We recognise the importance of rewarding dedication and loyalty, which is why we offer an EMI Share Scheme. This provides shares to all of our employees that have been with us for over 12 months.

Our flexible and hybrid working model means that our employees are able to work in a way that suits their lifestyle, whether that be working from the office or remotely.

We have a flex-holiday scheme. This is offered to all employees of Valto. The aim of the scheme is to provide employees with the opportunity to buy or sell some of their annual holiday entitlement so that their annual leave can better match individual circumstances.

Is there anything else you wish to mention related to being a best place to work?

While we are extremely proud of our workplace initiatives and amenities, we recognise that maintaining a positive work environment requires ongoing effort and collaboration.

Our commitment to transparency means that we actively seek feedback from employees to address any concerns promptly and effectively.

We regularly give our employees the chance to anonymously provide feedback through a survey about their working life and what they are happy with and what they feel needs to be improved.

We are dedicated to creating an inclusive culture where every voice is heard and valued.

One of the core values at Valto is to help change the world through the success we achieve as a company. This is shown through our goal to impact 1 million lives positively.

We have a chosen charity of the year, WeMindTheGap who we campaign for throughout the year. This year we have completed sponsored runs, charity football matches, and the 3 peaks challenge in aid of their cause.

We also donate to a food and toy bank every year on behalf of our customers and partners. Giving back to our community is a big priority for us.
