How we invest in employees

Recently Valto was awarded with the Sunday Times Best Places to Work in 2024 award.

This evidences that Valto has one of the most rewarding and engaging work environments for their employees, based on a rigorous and independent assessment.

Valto celebrates and inspires employees to do better. This includes supporting the local community. Valto held their own 3 Peakes challenge to raise money and awareness of the local charity WeMindTheGap (opens in a new tab).

Cost were fully covered by Valto, employees were offered a full training package to ensure they were ready to take on the challenge. Even after the event there were recovery plans put in place which even included a sports massage

Valto recognises that many roles within the tech industry are very much sedentary roles, and therefore supports employees to move more.

Not only going for daily lunch time walks to get the step count up, Valto offers A weekly kick about at the local football park (opens in a new tab)

This benefit is open to all employees of all abilities and is a great incentive to get employees active.

What our staff think

“Myself and partner absolutely love eating out so the Online Rewards app is amazing, giving us discounts in our favourite restaurants is a winner winner chicken dinner” “I set myself a goal to lose weight and the cycle to work scheme has definitely supported me with this. Not only have I received a massive discount on the bike I am also able to spread the cost over the year”. “Having young children and working around their school year has always been challenging with childcare, but the opportunity to buy more holidays has really eased this burden. Getting to spend more time with the children and also have a career means so much to me, it’s a great benefit to have”. “I always played football as a child and was a member of the local village team. More recently since having a family and working full time I had to give this up. Valto providing this benefit after work weekly has brought me back into my youth, I absolutely love it. I get to burn some energy with great mates, then also continue the banter and laugh into the office through the week, it’s a brilliant benefit”

Personal Opinion

I have always worked within the charity sector and only this past 2 years been working in the tech industry.

Whilst in the charity sector, salaries were not always the best, but the benefits definitely lifted them.

Now more recently moving over to the corporate world, where salaries are more competitive, having these additional benefits are a great way for the company to show you they truly care.

I fully utilise so many of the benefits listed above, without them spending holidays with my children, my health and wellbeing would not be as good as it currently is.

Hopefully as the organisation continues to grow, there will be more uptake of these benefits and some new ones offered to move with the times and age range of the employees.
