Power Platform is a low-code platform developed by Microsoft that enables users to create custom business applications, automate workflows, analyze data, and create chatbots without extensive coding skills.
It consists of several tools, including Power Apps, Power BI, Power Automate, and Power Virtual Agents, that can be integrated with other Microsoft products and third-party applications to build scalable and customizable solutions for various business needs.
Canvas Power Apps is a type of app building tool within the Microsoft Power Platform that enables users to create custom business applications with a drag-and-drop interface.
With Canvas Power Apps, users can design a fully customized user interface, create forms and screens, and add functionality such as data input and storage, business logic, and workflow automation.
The app’s layout and design are created on a blank canvas, hence the name “Canvas Power Apps.” This provides a flexible and intuitive way to create apps that meet specific business needs without requiring extensive coding experience.
Model-driven Power Apps is another type of app building tool within the Microsoft Power Platform that allows users to create custom business applications using pre-built components and data models.
With Model-driven Power Apps, users can create forms, views, and dashboards based on the data models and business rules defined in the Common Data Service (CDS).
Model-driven Power Apps is best suited for complex data-driven applications that require advanced customization, data management, and security features.
Power Apps Pages is a feature in the Microsoft Power Apps platform that allows users to create stand-alone, responsive web pages that can be embedded into websites or shared as URLs. Power Apps Pages provide a no-code or low-code way to create public-facing web pages that can display data from various sources, such as SharePoint, Microsoft Dataverse, or external APIs. Pages can be designed using a drag-and-drop interface and can include custom branding, forms, charts, and other interactive elements. Power Apps Pages can be used to create landing pages, customer portals, data entry forms, and other web-based solutions that require a modern and responsive interface.
Power Automate (formerly known as Microsoft Flow) is a cloud-based service within the Microsoft Power Platform that enables users to create automated workflows between different applications and services.
With Power Automate, users can connect to over 300 services and automate repetitive tasks, such as sending notifications, copying files, collecting data, and many more.
Power Virtual Agents is a no-code chatbot building tool within the Microsoft Power Platform that allows users to create custom chatbots to communicate with customers, employees, or other users.
Power Virtual Agents can help organizations improve customer service, reduce response time, and increase engagement by providing 24/7 access to information and support.
Power BI is a cloud-based business analytics service by Microsoft that allows users to visualize and analyze data from various sources in interactive reports and dashboards.
With Power BI, users can connect to a wide range of data sources, such as Excel spreadsheets, SQL databases, or cloud-based services like Microsoft Azure and Salesforce.
